"I was at the Oregon Equestrian Trails Meeting when you gave the demo on horse massage.  I found it interesting, but honestly thought that it would never be something that I would do.

However, one day all my donkeys and mule were milling around me and I started doing just how you showed, forward to back and top to bottom, with just a little pressure.  I was amazed!  My mule who doesn't want to be fussed with had her neck all the way out to the side, I thought she was going to topple over.  One of our donkeys has to be cornered and tied to brush, she is a non-trusting rescue, and she actually stood in one spot for the whole massage.  Needless to say, I'm a believer!  And as a bonus, it was as satisfying to me as it was to them.
